India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024: As we all know that “The India vs Pakistan” is one of the most trending clashes in the World Cup with 30,000-seater stadium which is completely sold out thereby, making it difficult for the match to be moved to some other venue.
As per the report from Times London, Nassau Stadium pitches recently came under fire for bounce thereby resulting in India skipper Rohit Sharma retiring hurt in the match against Ireland. In addition to that, the governing body dismissed the claims that the marquee clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan on June 9 will be moved from the venue.
However, the organisers have admitted the issues and concerns with the surface of the playground and assured that rectifications and renovation work is taking place before the match happening on Sunday.
T20 inc, which is the organising committee and the ICC realised that the pitches used so far at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium have not played as consistently as they would have all wanted. The hard work of the world-class grounds team seems to be commendable, post the conclusion of the yesterday’s game as they are making all possible efforts to remedy and deliver the best surface for the rest of the matches.
Additionally, it also pointed out that the inconsistent bounce was caused by grassy veins in the track with the pitches which is being maintained and levelled to reduce the impact of the veins.
He said that because rolling the wicket pushes the grass in, the ball should hit a flatter surface and play better. Former Zimbabwean cricketers Andy Flower and Irfan Pathan, as well as Michael Vaughan, voiced their dissatisfaction with the playing surface and called the ground hazardous.
